What would we do without the insanely cool products from the Netherlands, particularly those of Henk Stallinga, the man who came up with these salt and pepper shakers? They are infinitely interesting, to say the least. They resemble traditional ear and mouth pieces from the telephones of yore. Actually, they don’t merely resemble them: they really are (unused) pieces taken from real phones. And they’re mounted on the indicators of the original Morris Mini. Quite the unique combination of elements. The top is beautiful ivory and the base is transparent white. What can we say? We love functional objets d’art.

Included with the lightweight fibreglass plant pot is a height adjustable metal rod, a refillable I.V. bag and a flow regulator that allows you to set watering rates to suit your plant. The drip feed provides a striking design focus as well as acting as a reminder to its owner as to when it needs topping up.

Through this Rotterdam-based Slovakian designer’s ingenious intervention, a colony of over 40,000 bees at the Entomology Reasearch Center of Wageningen University, the Netherlands, has created Libertiny’s remarkable classically-shaped Honeycomb vase. The red color is achieved by adding a red wax dye to the hive before the bees begin to build the vases.
