Before Bad Brains, the Sex Pistols or even the Ramones, there was a band called Death. Punk before punk existed, three teenage brothers in the early ’70s formed a band in their spare bedroom, began playing a few local gigs and even pressed a single in the hopes of getting signed. But this was the era of Motown and emerging disco. Record companies found Death’s music—and band name—too intimidating, and the group were never given a fair shot, disbanding before they even completed one album. Equal parts electrifying rockumentary and epic family love story, A Band Called Death chronicles the incredible fairy-tale journey of what happened almost three decades later, when a dusty 1974 demo tape made its way out of the attic and found an audience several generations younger.
Being a bag fanatic, i’m super excited about this bag. It reminds me a lot of the bike bags I have that have the easy access fold over flap, and waterproof shell and interior. Something you can use daily or on a short trip. It’s designed with the user in mind, with pockets inside and out (something that’s missing on a lot of bags, POCKETS!). It reminds me of my Mission Workshop bag, but with a bit more usability in terms of pockets, and padding. Deep storage, lots of pockets, and padding for your laptop makes this a no brainer for any one needing a good solid backpack. This shows that not all quality bags are made in the U.S. and that all bags out of the states are cheaply made. This is a high quality product and a great company that we’re excited to see it’s growth in the coming years.

This is Tricky’s 10th album in his 18 year career. It’s a return to the form of his debut album Maxinquaye. Full of infectious grooves and minimal piano lines with his trademark rap. Throughout this album there’s a freshness to Tricky that enables his dark imaginings to connect with beautiful simplicity.
Skinny puppy, is one of the most revered bands in the history of dark electronic music that spans almost 3 decades of work. Their latest harkens back to the old more aggressive Puppy that focuses on troubling social and political issues. It”s a powerful record on many levels, reflecting on the role of weapons and warfare in todays culture (american). Ogre states “The Human animal is a weapon. Every action and thought, conceived then carried out; whether political, physical or spiritual, has the potential to cause harm and misery; just as the same action, not underwritten with fear and misinformation, but carried by only positive intent would have the opposite effect.”
It’s weird getting excited about a door lock. But this lock is freakin awesome. It works with your smartphone to unlock your door. You don’t even need to take your phone out of your pocket, you just touch the lock and you’re in. You can also send keys to contractors, friends, or whoever you want to have access to your house. I know i’m getting one to try out!
