A 1995 collection of early Rephlex and R&S recordings. The opening track, “Digeridoo(1),” was Richard James’ first breakthrough and the one that brought attention to this bedroom freak. The story is that some DJ thought it might be novel / weird to put this on during a party and people started dancing bugged out to it. Somehow it caught on from there and became an underground dance hit. Back when this first came out, stuff off these labels was hard as hell to track down. Shit came in bubble wrap, no sticker, sometimes no markings at all.  The sound on this comp is also hard and electronic, kinda like early Detroit, but grittier with more analog warmth.
