Beast Beast

After the release of the self-titled album in 2008, this group has yet to receive their deserved attention. Beast is composed of Betty Bonifassi and Jean-Phi Goncalves, who have been in the music industry for about 20 years, and together they’re bringing back the art of the album. Every song is catchy and original. You’ll find yourself comparing their sound to a number of great musicians, except for that they’re a mixture of them all. Microcyte is reminiscent of a trip-hop version of a Rage Against the Machine song, containing rap vocals and a bass line fitting of a getaway song. Mr. Hurricane was released as an iTunes free download just one week after the release of the album and the music video was nominated Best Short Form Music Video at the 2010 Grammy Awards. Arrow has a very underground dance/electronica sound complete with ominous lyrics and siren samples. And finally, Satan, has a modernized gospel sound.
