White Lies To Lose My Life Review
White Lies (Harry Mcveigh – vocals/guitar, Jack Brown – drums, Charles Cave – bass) are tantalizing, rousing, gorgeous. Oh to be so young and so assured. The band will release to lose my life – currently the number one album in the UK- March 17 in the United States and Canada, followed by a North American tour beginning in Austin, TX with south by southwest and continuing through a performance at Coachella in April. Reminiscent of bands such as Tears for Fears, The Cure, and Depeche Mode, the White Lies debut album To Lose My Life brings you back to the 80’s alternative rock sound while still delivering a modern vibe.
Lead singer Harry McVeigh carries the music with his incredibly strong vocals, while Charles Cave (bass guitar and backing vocals) and Jack Lawrence-Brown (drums) fill out the band. The songs “From the Stars” and “Nothing to Give” stand out musically, with great lyrics and strong emotional delivery. “Death” is another great track as a lead-in to the album. The album was released in the UK on January 19th and debuted at #1 on the UK Album Chart. It will release in the US on March 17th.
